Nine Eleven (Tribute to Heroes)

I see a lady in a harbor
Her tears are not often seen
Her skyline shattered, colors soiled and tattered
The gray dust dims the torch that used to gleam

Through the smoke came souls of heroes
Through the ashes rose their cry
When the call came, they thought not of their own pain
Their only choice was come and die

Red trucks, white vans and a thin blue line *
Came together on that day
To save the lives of all of those they thought they could *
Their life would not stand in their way

What shade can you color courage?
All shades between white and black
They climbed a stairway ... up to heaven that day
Most knew that they weren't coming back

Red trucks, white vans and a thin blue line *
Came together on that day
To save the lives of all of those they thought they could *
Their life would not stand in their way

I hear that lady in the harbor
Her voice cries out in the night
It's in your hands ... if she should fall or stand
Carry on don't douse the light

Red trucks, white vans and a thin blue line *
Never back down from the fight
To save the lives of all of those they thought they could *
Nine-eleven did unite
Nine-eleven did unite
Carry on, Carry on
Carry on don't douse the light
