Rain Poems
Yesterday, March 13th, it was really raining very hard. So, I asked the children to write some rain poems in their journals. This is the result!! I still am so impressed with how the whole class took to writing poetry this year.

If I
Were The Rain
If I were the rain, I would look shiny and silvery Drop to the ground. I would drop down shining, Like a rainbow, Playing on an umbrella Tapping on the windowpane. I make beautiful music. By: Jason If I Were The Rain If I were the rain I would make puddles everywhere. I would drop from the sky, Splatter on a windowpane. If I were the rain, I'd shimmer As brightly as a star. By: Meghan Wonderful Rain Today it's raining. The drops of rain Glimmer out of my window. I hear the rain Pitter, patter on the roof. I love to watch the rain fall From the sky. I love the rain. By: Linda If I Were The Rain If I were the rain I would let silver raindrops Fall down. There would be a rainbow. Then I'd come back To give the flowers water.
If I Were The Rain If I were the rain, I would drop so lightly. But, when I am mad, I'll drop hard! When I am sad, I won't drop at all. When it's cold, I'll turn into snow. By: Seth
If I Were The Rain If I were the rain, Falling on somebody's head, I would fall so lightly They wouldn't even feel me. That's what I would do If I were rain! By: Shaina If I Were The Rain If I were the rain I would not be dry- I'd be wet. Rain is blue And so are you When you cry. Raindrops come falling from your eye. It could rain anytime And anywhere. By: Tyler If I Were a Raindrop Raindrops, raindrops Falling on my window. That's why my sister might be scared. Thunder all around us. Then the biggest thing of all... Lightning- Lastly, the sun shines! By: Alex If I Were Raindrops If I were raindrops And I was mad I would make a dark rain in the sky. If I was sad My tears would be The April showers Sprinkling on the ground. And if I was furious I'd make a thunderstorm Over a town. By: Jenna If I Were The Rain I would twinkle down, Down onto the ground. If I were the rain I would make sure That all the raindrops Fall on my cousin whose a brat! If I were the rain I would invite my friend over. His name would be... Thunder. We could play soccer. When we scored a goal, Lightning bolts would Shoot out from the sky. If I were the rain ... I'd greet Mrs. Stein Everyday. By: Erik Rain Today the rain Drops upon the window, Tap, tap, tap. It falls all over, Clop, clop, clop. It's all mushy on the grass. Squish, squish, squish. I cry as the rain falls, Boo hoo, boo hoo. I feel just plain blue. By: Kerri If I Were Thunder and Lightning If I were were thunder and lightning I would roam around the world Making storms Feeling mighty Standing proud As an eight year old boy.
